Sheepskin Flying Helmet
Issued to RAF airmen in the Second World War, flying helmets were an essential part of kit.
A sheepskin lining was necessary for insulation to ensure that crew members remained focused in temperatures reaching -30 degrees.
Made from brown sheepskin and 'warm honey' coloured sheep's wool lining. Includes strap fastening with a metal buckle.
