Cecil Beaton - Theatre of War
Published in association with the Imperial War Museums to accompany the major exhibition Cecil Beaton:Theatre at War at IWM London, this title includes full page reproductions of Beaton's wartime work and extracts from his diaries.
Includes Beatonâs work surveying Bomber and Fighter Command for the RAF and recording the heroism of Londoners under attack. Also included are photographs from his travels throughout the Western Desert, Middle East and India and the end of the war in Chinese territory where he witnessed the Nationalist resistance to the Japanese. Beaton's wartime work for the Ministry amounted to seven thousand photographs, which are now housed with their negatives at the Imperial War Museums.
